Accessibility
We want everyone who looks after a society — committee members, residents, security staff — to be able to use this site. Here is what it does today, what it doesn't do yet, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
Motion you can turn down
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the site follows it: the animated star background stops, scroll parallax is switched off, entrance animations lose their movement (content simply fades in), and smooth scrolling becomes an instant jump.
- The "Reduce motion" setting does the same for this site alone, if you'd rather not change a device-wide setting: on a phone or small tablet it's a switch in the menu, and with a mouse or trackpad, or on a larger tablet, it's the "Reduce motion" link in the footer. Your choice is remembered in this browser.
- Cursor-following effects (buttons that drift toward the pointer, cards that tilt) only run with a mouse or trackpad, and are off whenever motion is reduced.
Keyboard and screen readers
- Every link and control is a native link or button, reachable with Tab and operable with Enter or Space, with a visible focus outline.
- The mobile menu closes with Escape and returns focus to the menu button.
- Purely decorative graphics — the star background, glows, orbit lines — are hidden from screen readers. App screenshots have text descriptions of what they show.
- Each page has one main heading, with section headings in order beneath it.
- The feature showcase on the Nivora page has a List view: the same features as plain text, for anyone who'd rather read than use the interactive carousel.
Reading
- Dark and light themes, switchable from the header.
- Text colours were chosen against the site's own backgrounds to reach at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text.
- Pages reflow to a single column on narrow screens, down to 360px wide.
What we haven't done yet
- The site hasn't had an independent accessibility audit, so we don't claim conformance to a specific WCAG level.
- This statement covers this website only. The Nivora app (Android and web) is a separate product and isn't covered here.
Report a barrier
If something on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@vidyron.in with the page and what happened. That report is how this list gets fixed.
